Ik ben Charlotte en ik begeleid het kinderatelier op de woensdag bij SAKB. Met veel plezier geef ik kunstlessen aan de kinderen van Amstelveen. Mijn achtergrond ligt in het werken op een Reggio Emilia school, waar ik zes jaar lang creatieve workshops en lessen heb gegeven met beeldende kunst, textiel en open-eind materialen. Daar heb ik geleerd hoe belangrijk het is dat kinderen vrij mogen ontdekken en experimenteren met materialen, zonder vast einddoel, maar met ruimte voor hun eigen ideeën.
Voor mij is kunst maken een ontdekkingsreis. Samen met de kinderen duik ik in het creatieproces, waarbij ik hen begeleid in verschillende technieken. Het eindresultaat is altijd een persoonlijke afdruk van het kind zelf, creativiteit laat zich niet dwingen, het mag groeien zoals het bedoeld is.
Ik woon in Schoorldam, vlakbij de bossen en de zee. Daar wandel ik dagelijks met mijn hond Moro. De natuur is een grote inspiratiebron in mijn lessen, veel materialen neem ik gewoon mee uit het bos of van het strand. Voor de echte kleine kunstenaars onder ons, die graag willen onderzoeken, voelen en zelf ontdekken, is er bij mij alle ruimte.

I’m Charlotte, and I guide the children’s art studio on Wednesdays at SAKB. With great joy, I teach art classes to the children of Amstelveen. My background is in working at a Reggio Emilia school, where I spent six years giving creative workshops and lessons in visual arts, textiles, and open-ended materials. There, I learned how important it is for children to freely explore and experiment with materials, without a fixed end goal, but with space for their own ideas.
For me, making art is a journey of discovery. Together with the children, I dive into the creative process, guiding them through different techniques. The result is always a personal imprint of the child, creativity cannot be forced; it needs the freedom to grow naturally.
I live in Schoorldam, close to the forests and the sea, where I enjoy daily walks with my dog Moro. Nature is a big source of inspiration in my lessons, many of the materials I use come straight from the forest or the beach. For the little artists among us who love to explore, feel, and discover for themselves, my studio offers all the space they need.
